Uses – The subject goods are used extensively for protection, storage, and preparation of foods and beverages, pharmaceutical packaging, cigarette industry for wrapping cigarettes, tabaco pacing (Gutkha), beer bottles etc.

Past investigations involving the product – Anti-dumping duties were first levied vide notification no 23/2017- Customs (ADD) dated 16th May, 2017. The current anti-dumping duties, if not extended, will expire on 15th May 2022.
Facts of the present case – The present application was filed pursuant to dumping of subject goods from China PR. The applicants submitted that there is likelihood of continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury to the domestic industry. The DGTR has found sufficient prima facie evidence of likelihood of continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury in the event of cessation of duty, thus, warranting initiation of investigation.
