Facts of the present case– The anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of Saccharin from China PR was initiated vide notification dated 26th March 2024. The application was filed pursuant to significant imports at extremely low prices. The evidence submitted by the domestic industry shows injury to the domestic industry on account of price depression preventing the domestic industry from being able to achieve reasonable returns, having an adverse impact on profitability, decrease in capacity utilisation, and increase in inventory. The evidence shows prima facie evidence of causal link between dumping from China PR and injury suffered by the domestic industry. Further, the Applicants have also requested for retrospective imposition of anti-dumping duty by claiming a history of dumping, with the dumping margin remaining significant.
