Initiation of anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of “Azo Pigment” originating in or exported from China PR (29.03.2024)

Product description: The product under consideration is Azo Pigment, which belongs to the class of synthetic organic pigments. This product is traded in three different colors: yellow, red, and orange pigments, each with different chemical grades. Each grade has different chemical concentrations and properties, leading to various end-use applications.

Facts of the present case: The application was filed pursuant to dumping of Azo Pigment from China PR. The domestic industry is suffering from material injury due to dumped imports, resulting in a significant decline in the profitability. Despite being no demand-supply gap, the volume of imports increased. Further, to maintain its market share, the domestic industry has scarified on its profitability resulting in decline in profits, cash profits, PBIT, and returns on investments. The evidence shows prima facie evidence of causal link between dumping from China PR and injury suffered by domestic industry.
