Product description – The product under consideration is “Effect Pearlescent Pigments or Mica Pearlescent Pigments, excluding Effect Pigments for Automotive Applications”. The product is also commercially known as ‘pearl lustre pigments’ or ‘pearl pigments’.

Facts of present case – The application was filed for redressal against subsidized imports of Effect Pigments from China. The evidence submitted by the domestic industry shows that the exporters in China have received countervailable subsidies and such subsidised imports have caused material injury to the domestic industry in India. Imports are causing significant price injury to the domestic industry. This has resulted in deterioration of profitability and returns on investment.
